EBay and Why Selling on eBay Makes You Recession-Proof For Life!

There is talk of recession on the way! Good or bad news?

According to some of the richest people in the world could be good news. The fact is that many fortunes have been grown in a recession, and many products and business models are known to overcome economic crisis and grow even stronger and more profitable, the deeper the recession becomes.

Listen to what these people had to say:

* "It seems the only thing we can count on the United States is that even during the toughest of the recession, the rich get richer." Lee Iacocca, Chief Executive Officer, Chrysler Corporation.

* "There is no such thing as bad times, I told myself. Business is there, if you go after." Estee Lauder, founder of the cosmetics company that bears his name.

* "And 'when things go wrong that you should build. Why wait until things pick up, and everything to cost more?" Ray Kroc, founder of McDonalds.

What does all this talk recent recession mean for your company to eBay?

Means the time to hang your finger feedback or time to grow and prosper while all around you fall?

From the experience of trading through two recessions Personally I think eBay is the most recession-proof business of all. It is supported by evidence from the top researchers eBay sellers and long standing some of which are traded through a series of economic crises.

Viz:

"How do you recession proof your business model? Well, the last time most of us have bought more stuff second hand off eBay and Craig List instead of buying something new to retail." (Scobleizer.com reflecting the fact that sellers of second hand goods can flourish in a recession)

"A recession-proof eBay? In a way. It has weathered the recession with great success." (Yahoo Message Board)

EBAY ** REASONS MAY recession-proof **

* As mentioned, second-hand goods become more popular in recession, and eBay is the world's largest market for used goods of every kind, from clothing for Economic rare antiques.

* Selling on eBay is very different to offline sales, in high street stores or markets, for example, where the recession threatens the welfare of local workers and business owners in the area. At the global level is different and not all countries are suffering the same way during the recession. To show how this could benefit, consider that producers in countries most affected usually cut prices to survive the recession. These are items you can buy cheap and sell in the less severely affected.

* Being global, eBay offers sellers of many millions of potential buyers in the population of most cities and towns worldwide. If, for example, ten percent of people cut their spending at the local level that could be disastrous, on eBay the impact would be much less noticeable, if at all. Moreover, since local producers will start reducing prices, as in the last paragraph, there will be more opportunities for eBay sellers to buy low and grow profits further.

Arbitrage opportunities * The largest and best should rise as sellers on eBay unprofessional and inexperienced list and run to liquidate their long stock and make mistakes in their lists that you, the trader can capitalize .......
