How to write your first ebook
Write the first ebook may seem like a daunting task. But, like many projects, does not seem so bad when it is broken down into manageable parts. Not all projects are successful, so do not be too disappointed if your first ebook is a bestseller. Whatever the outcome of the first ebook, you can at least say 'you did'.
Like many things in life, often what seems impossible can be achieved with the right attitude and the right equipment. It could be a marathon, climb a mountain or finding parking at the supermarket.
If you want to play golf, you'll need clubs, balls and some practice. There is no guarantee that it will become another Tiger Woods, but you become a golfer.
If you want to write an ebook, you will need a computer, software, and certain indications. Assuming you have a computer and software or access to them, here are some hints.
Determine your reasons
The reasons for wanting to write an ebook will have a major impact on your success. It could be for profit, the promotion of a business, advance your career, education, self-satisfaction or something entirely different. Whatever your reasons, write them down. It will help to motivate the going gets tough.
Choose the topic
There are many topics that can be written. It 'best to choose something that has an interest or knowledge. It 's worth spending time on this. The more you know about the subject, the easier it is to write.
Choose your title
After choosing your subject, you will need a title for your ebook. It is worthwhile to note some of the most different before deciding on what you use. This will help keep your attention and can give some other ideas. The title should give a clear indication of the content in your book. A catchy title may help to sell, but remember to balance this with clarity, to keep it in context. I wrote two examples. Feel free to use them if you have a sense of humor.
A Clubbers Paradise - Golfing in Ibiza
20 minutes late - The future of trains
Choose your audience
The subject and style of your writing will determine your audience. Deciding that the public will be required. Age, sex, culture, social class and education are factors you can consider. What you write must be targeted to your desired audience.
Write your thesis statement
Although you can write your own ebook without a 'thesis statement', it is not advisable. If you are unfamiliar with this term, there are many sources available that will provide all necessary details. Unfortunately, there are some differences of opinion can lead to confusion.
The 'thesis statement' deserves a separate article of its own, but for now I have written a general definition of a thesis statement for ebooks. This can leave the door open for criticism, but it's a small price to pay if it eliminates some of the confusion. More importantly, will give you a foundation upon which to build. Use it only as a guideline. If you want a more specific definition, Google is a good place to start your search.
A thesis statement is a sentence or two writings show clearly the reason (s) for your ebook and what is expected to write.
Although I have referred to this as a general definition, keep in mind that real education should be as specific as possible.
Think of it as the foundation for your ebook. It must contain the following:
1) The subject
2) Your opinion on this topic
3) A reason to support your opinion
4) The meaning of 1), 2) and 3)
Create your document
Now that you have the basics, you can start writing.
A standard application like MS Word is a good choice.
While you are writing your document, you can change your thesis statement at any time until it is published. This provides a good degree of flexibility.
Choose the format and layout of the document, including chapters, headings and presentations. Depending on the subject, you might want to add photographs, anecdotes and testimonials that keep the reader's attention.
Since an ebook is generally read by a screen, you can divide the text rather than in a printed book. Experiment with some different fonts and watch other ebooks for ideas you can use. The spell check and save the document regularly. MS Word has an automatic reset. This is useful if you save the document on a regular basis and subsequently experience a system crash. Always back up the document. As a precaution you should also keep a copy on another media like CD.
Choose the format Ebook
This is a personal choice. You can choose to create a (. Exe) executable file or a Portable Document Format (. PDF). In any case, an exhaustive list, here are some points to consider before choosing.
