Iztaccihuatl and Popocatepetl
Tonatiuh, the Sun God, lives with his family in heaven 13 which is unknown darkness and anguish ... The son of Tonatiuh was the prince who loved Izcozauhqui gardens. One day the prince heard of the orchards of Mr. Tonacatecuhtli. Was curious to know. The plants appeared green and the meadows fresh and dewy. Upon discovering a glittering lake came swiftly and in doing so, he met a woman coming out of the water wearing a silver dress. They fell in love immediately with the blessing of the gods. They spent time together, roamed the sky to another. But the gods were forbidden to go beyond the 13 cielos.Los lovers knew the sky. The curiosity to know what was under it was sent down to know the land. There life is different. The sun does not shine all the time, rest at night. There are more colors, textures, sounds and animals than all the heavens routes.
The princes, to discover that the earth is more beautiful than heavenly havens decided to live there forever. The place chosen for his home was near a lake, next to mountains and valleys.
The gods, angered by the disobedience of the couple decided on a punishment. The princess suddenly ill, were in vain Izcozauhqui efforts to alleviate it. She knew that this was the punishment of the gods, Tonatiuh did know his scorching rays. She would not let him live.
Separated by his death, forever. He told the prince asked him to take her to a mountain to be with the clouds, so that when he returned with his father, could see it more closely from the sky. Were his last words, then lay still and white as snow.
The prince with his precious cargo in tow walked days and nights to reach the mountaintop. He lit a torch close to her, the veil, as if the princess to sleep.
Izcozauhqui stood beside her, motionless, until he died. She became the sleeping woman (Iztaccíhuatl) and he on the hill that smokes (Popocatepetl).
