Tamper-evident seals do polling booths as sure as the Grocery Store
The online news Slashdot seed cover has recently addressed the question of "How To Spot E-Vote tampering." The advice offered by experts on this "news for nerds" site was: "Use of tamper evident tape to seal the case, cover the holes and lock all the doors open."
Shortly after, the issue of tampering with the national vote went and extended beyond the arena of electronic voting paper casting vote. Alaska Peninsula Clarion has covered the issue when he published an article entitled "The security measures implemented by the state division of elections." In this, it was revealed that, while "security in Alaska election machines ... have shown that the system is in good shape," was still "needs some improvements."
More specifically, "the University of Alaska Anchorage has issued a report [that] evaluated the state electoral system in detail and recommended ways to strengthen the technology and procedures for the elections." Some of the recommendations made were: "Seals that can detect the tampering must be used on all voting equipment, election information security should be added to training manuals for workers from the polls, there should be greater vigilance on security procedures absentee voting in places, and the state-owned voting machines must be used in the district of the North Slope, rather than borrow village owned machines. "
The elections systems manager for the Division of Elections provides "tamper-evident seals that were placed on all equipment." This is just one of the newest ways in which the tamper-evident seals are making lifestyle safer and more secure than Americans'. For years, PVC shrink, reducing the bands and labels to reduce anti-tamper seals have been used to alleviate the concerns of Americans over contaminated food and drink, health and beauty, pharmaceuticals, industrial chemicals and hardware. Now, authenication vote can be added to this list growing.
A leading manufacturer, converter and printer of heat shrink PVC, PET-G, OPS and PLA films EathFirst specializes in vibrant printed shrink labels and heat shrink bands. These products are used for tamper-proof and shrink sleeve of promotional multipacks and other shrink products.
In addition to tamper-proof, heat-shrinkable PVC can be used in many different ways. Full Sleeve printed product identification labels and sleeves combined with tamper-proof are the common uses and sleeves, printed or transparent, multi-packing, with products and new uses for these seals that appear every day. For example, Earthfirst shrinkable labels, a film PLA do not corn, oil, has been recently introduced. This environmentally friendly, compostable shrink wrap provides the same excellent clarity, runnability, printability and withdrawal safe as oil pack with less impact on the earth.
As the Courier stresses Peninsula, "Alaska voters can [now] going to the polls and vote knowing that their votes are safe," thanks to the tamper-evident seals. The technology allows voters to enjoy now the same peace of mind of the consumers were at the food market, pharmacy, pharmacy and hardware store. What are the prospects for the evolution of anti-tampering industry? Only time will tell, but whatever it is, be sure to include exceptional quality, design and technology interesting .......
